This was a really fun quick read

This was a really fun quick read. The chemistry between Gun and Addie was off the charts. For a shorter story I thought the characters were well developed, there was enough background given to understand where both of them were coming from. Really enjoyed this second chance romance.

High school sweethearts

Second chances don't come often, especially for first loves on opposite sides of the tracks. These two never stopped loving each other, life just got in the way along with snooty parents. Following the Dare theme, this one is hot and steamy. Neanderthal football player has a soft spot for his long lost love and financial planner. Quickly read in a couple hours, just make sure you have privacy.

Gun and Addie have great chemistry and this is a great read. Sidney Halston is a new to me author. I will be looking some new books up from her. This is a short read and very good. Another hit in Carly Phillips world.

This introductory book, which is based on a series of lectures given to undergraduate and postgraduate students in electrical engineering, is intended to fill this need. About the Author

Vernon Cooray received his Ph.D. degree in Electricity with special attention to electrical transients and electrical discharges from Uppsala University, Sweden, in 1982. In the year 2000, he was promoted to the rank of full professor in electricity with special attention to transients and electrical discharges at the division for electricity of Uppsala University. From 2000 – 2002 he was the head of the Division for Electricity in the Department of Engineering Sciences.

Vernon Cooray has authored and co-authored more than 400 scientific papers and 22 book chapters on Physics of Lightning and Electrical Discharges, Lightning Interaction and Electromagnetic Compatibility. He is the editor of three books, The Lightning Flash, published by IEE (London) in 2003, Lightning Protection published by IEE (London) in 2009 and Lightning Electromagnetics published by IEE (London) in 2012. Vernon Cooray is the Editor in chief of the Journal of Lightning Research. He was also a guest editor of two issues of Atmospheric Research and two issues of the J. Electrostatics. Vernon Cooray is the vice president of the scientific committee of the International Conference on Lightning Protection (ICLP) and a member of the scientific committee of the Symposium on Lightning Protection (SIPDA).

This is a great book if you're interested in learning more about Lightning. I wish it had more photos of the processes described, but I realize that a flash takes about 0.2 seconds to complete and acquiring meaningful or useful images could be difficult.

About the Author
Colin Barrow is the author of more than 30 books in the fields of entrepreneurship, business management and international property development, and he has authored or co-authored ten books in the Dummies series. His books have been published by the BBC, The Economist, John Wiley and Kogan Page. Following a career in business where he held senior staff and line positions, including that of managing director of a substantial manufacturing enterprise with multi-plant and multi-country operations, he was Head of the Enterprise Group at Cranfield School of Management, a leading International Business School. He has lectured, researched and collaborated with colleagues in business schools in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Asia and throughout Europe. He is the author of The Business Plan Workbook and Cut Costs Not Corners (Kogan Page).

Paul Barrow is an author, a Visiting Professor at Cranfield, and also a consultant advising SMEs on growth strategies.

In the 1930's Wigner extended what is known to mathematicians as the theory of group representations and the theory of group algebras to study the coupling coefficients of angular momentum, relating various properties of the coefficients to the properties of the abstract group of rotations in 3-space. In 1949 Racah, in a paper on rare earth spectra, showed that similar coefficients occur in other situations. Immediately a number of studies of the coefficients were begun, notably by Jahn, with his applications in nuclear physics. In the years since then a large number of physicists and chemists have added to the development of a general theory of the coefficients, or have produced specialized tables for a specific application. Applications now range from high-energy physics to biology.

Comprehensive and Useful Guide

This is a treatment of Group Theory applications to problems in quantum chemistry and physics, especially spectroscopy, although as the author points out very early, there is no reason to limit the applications to spectroscopy. This book has been an invaluable aid in my research, it is concise, and well-thought out. A good understanding of linear algebra is required, and it would be helpful to have some prior aquaintance with group theory - perhaps Volker Heine's "Group Theory in Q.M." is a good start. But Butler proves Schur's lemmas on page 12, so be prepared!. The Tables have been more than useful as well, they generalize the 3-j, and 6-j symbols (and there are a few 9-j and 12-j's as well) for groups below SO3, which have already been tabulated in the Rotenberg-Bevins-Metropolis...classic. These extra 3-j's become necessary in spectroscopic problems when the actual point group symmetry is invoked. You will require Rotenberg et al., or else use the 3-j/6-j algorithm in Mathematica for the SO3 case, since Butler does not provide them. Butler develops a theorem for the agreement of parity between his 'natural labels' of irreducible representations and that of the underlying interaction which I have employed in considering the selection rules on superexchange matrix elements, but it is in fact a very general theorem. I have heard it said from recent physics graduates that they no longer learn group theory. That is a shame, and may very well change in the future, as these methods are quite powerful and can be enlarged to investigate the dynamics of statistical systems, not just simple, spherical ('atomic') quantum systems. So, if you're one of these deprived physics graduates, this volume is a real eye-opener, as it will introduce another way of thinking about physical problems to you, and that boon is sometimes worth it in itself, just as learning path integral techniques often is, even when they don't help you solve any particular problem, they nonetheless help you gain a fresh perspective on any particular problem you might be confronted with.

About the Author
JEAN VANIER, the son of former governor general Georges Vanier, was educated in England and Canada. After eight years in the Royal and the Canadian Navy, he went to study in France, where he received his doctorate in philosophy, later teaching at St. Michael s College (University of Toronto). Distressed by the plight of people with developmental challenges, he founded L Arche communities, and Faith and L ight, two international networks of communities for people with disabilities. With many bestselling books and humanitarian awards to his name including the Pope Paul VI International Prize, the International Peace Award and the Companion of the Order of Canada Vanier lives in Trosly, France, in the original L Arche community he founded in 1964.
