It's been awhile since I've been reeled into a story so quickly! Bravo!! I have read a lot of terrific books since I finished The Vampire Hunter's Daughter series yet it seems like just yesterday I fell for Chloe & the gang. All of the details immediately coming back...the love for these characters, the town, & their mission flooded me.
WOW, I was seriously in need of a Chloe fix!! And boy did this ever satisfy the craving! ;*D
I wasn't expecting to finish it tonight, but I could not put it down & finished it in 3 hours! This series is gonna rock for sure!!!! I can't wait to read the next book! BTW I'm totally Team Drew! LOLz

For anyone who is new to the world of the vampire hunters,Chloe & her pals, ... even though The Arcadia Falls series could totally be a stand alone series ... I suggest reading the The Vampire Hunter's Daughter series first so you can enjoy all of their background! ;)

Love & War is an exciting read that allows fans (and new readers) to follow vampire hunter, Chloe's next journey. The main character Chloe, who I had previously established as being a favourite YA heroine of mine in The Vampire Hunter's Daughter, continues to develop in skill and maturity in Jennifer Malone Wright's book.

The book is well crafted with an interesting plot development and twists that I really did not see coming. There are numerous exciting, heart-pounding moments in Love & War, that successfully entertained me and kept me gripped. It was a thoroughly enjoyable story,one that both new readers and hardy fans will enjoy.

Excellent Source for Reverse Lookup

Absolutely a fine dictionary that is useful to Anglo Saxon students and enthusiasts! A perfect work for finding Anglo Saxon words when one only knows Modern English. It also is a great piece for learning large chunks of vocabulary (fast). This small treasure divides vocabulary into similar categories that almost makes the book not only a dictionary, but a thesaurus as well. (This in addition to having the entire work in alphabetical order)

Great Book on Old English

When I bought this book I was not expecting much, however, it is a good little book. It's easy to use. I liked the grouping of Old English words into topics. Well worth the price. It is user-friendly to the layman, which most books on Old English are not.

About the Author
Laura Kay is Ann Whitney Olin professor and Chair of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Barnard College, where she has taught since 1991. She received a BS degree in physics and an AB degree in feminist studies from Stanford University, and MS and PhD degrees in astronomy and astrophysics from the University of California–Santa Cruz. As a graduate student she spent 13 months at the Amundsen Scott station at the South Pole in Antarctica, and has had fellowships in Chile and Brazil. She studies active galactic nuclei using optical and X-ray telescopes. At Barnard she teaches courses on astronomy, astrobiology, women and science, and polar exploration.

Stacy Palen is an award-winning professor in the Physics Department and Director of the Ott Planetarium at Weber State University. She received her BS degree from Rutgers University, and her PhD from the University of Iowa. Dr. Palen does research in the death of Sun-like stars, and formal and informal astronomy education. She spends much of her time thinking, teaching, and writing about the applications of science in everyday life. She then puts that science to use on her small farm in Ogden, Utah.

George Blumenthal is chancellor at the University of California–Santa Cruz, where he has been a professor of astronomy and astrophysics since 1972. Chancellor Blumenthal received his BS degree from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and his PhD in physics from the University of California–San Diego. As a theoretical astrophysicist, Chancellor Blumenthal's research encompasses several broad areas, including the nature of the dark matter that constitutes most of the mass in the universe, the origin of galaxies and other large structures in the universe, the earliest moments in the universe, astrophysical radiation processes, and the structure of active galactic nuclei such as quasars.

About the Author

Anne Gillain is Professor Emerita at Wellesley College and is known for her work in French cinema, particularly the films of François Truffaut. She is author of Le Cinéma selon François Truffaut and The 400 Blows.

Alistair Fox is Professor of English and Director of the Centre for Research on National Identity at the University of Otago. He is author of Jane Campion: Authorship and Personal Cinema (IUP, 2011).

Wonderful book on a great subject

I love this book, and it has prompted me to study more of Truffaut's films. It is an excellent survey of Truffaut's films, but has been criticized for its psychoanalytical notions. I don't find these to be excessive or inappropriate, even though I consider psychoanalysis to be passe. Psychological theory is essentially handicapped by the disparity between interesting questions and methodloogy that cannot reach those interesting questions while standing on scientific foundations, and psychoanalysis wasn't satisfied only to tiptoe above those foundations. Gillain's basic analysis of Truffaut is plausible enough to me. Further, Truffaut refers to psychoanalysis in his interview of Hitchcock. Psychoanalytic theory (e.g. Norman Brown's "Life Against Death") was popular when Truffaut made his films. Gillain's analysis shows interesting relationships among the themes in many of Truffaut's films. I watched "The Wild Child" after reading about it in her book. This film, with a rather scientific attitude derived from Dr. Itard's book, "Victor of Aveyron," has none of the sexual intrigue found in Truffaut's best films, but those who know him as the author of "The 400 Blows" can appreciate the richness of his performance as the often puzzled Dr. Itard, since he was himself a wild child before he became a film maker. This perception alone would make Gillain's book worth reading. Her style is lively and consistently interesting, and she has much to say. Truffaut liked talking with her, and I recommend her book highly.

What an AWESOME book! Refreshing to see this type of work come from a diaspora Armenian author. Thoroughly entertaining with funny scenarios that made me literally laugh out loud and some nostalgic moments as well - a real page turner. I highly recommend it to all those who have an open mind and want to read something different. Kudos Mr. Berberian.

Really an osasis of information that is easy to follow and read

I have read so many 2,000-paged textbooks before on other animals, and all of them were not written well; it kept repeating and contradicting itself with lots of unnecessary material.

However, this book was amazing. I learned so much and everything tied together so well. Then again, I'm not new to herpetology, so that might be a difference (I breed multiple species colubrids and anurans).
